Kiara is the first female puma that arrived at Margarita Zoo from a circus located in the upper Piura. She was raised from a very small age by people, so she had no fear of them and was very accustomed to the human being which made it impossible to release them to their natural habitat.
Kiara belongs to a very rare puma variety, is a jungle puma, its reddish coloration, its more elongated and exotic face makes it quite attractive to the eye, being quickly noticed its difference before the common of the pumas.
To day of today it shares its enclosure with Horestes, its companion that arrived a year later. They both blended in very well. Kiara is still very affectionate with the people, mainly with the personnel who takes care of her.
